Outstanding Paper Awards
To encourage young engineers and researchers, the Huixian
Earthquake Engineering Foundation (China) and the US - China
Earthquake Engineering Foundation (USA) jointly awarded the
outstanding papers presented at the 14WCEE for the young
researchers (born on or after January 1, 1973). 928 applications for the 14WCEE Outstanding Paper Awards
were received. 26 papers were nominated by the Regular
Sessions Coordinators and Special Sessions Conveners. The
nominated papers were reviewed and the final decisions were
made by an expert committee organized by the two
Foundations. Ultimately, the Foundations awarded 8
outstanding papers.
Prof. QI Xiaozhai and Prof. W.D. Iwan, on behalf of the two
Foundations, announced the winners. Eight young researchers
from 7 countries/regions won the award.
